WATER TRANSPORT. Thanks to a system of channels Moscow is called the port of five seas. However, water transport in the city performs more excursion and recreational functions, rather than a function of passenger transport. From the North and South Riverstations go long distance cruise ships. At the Center of Moscow and in some areasthe city ply Pleasure boats. The total number of berths in the city, at whichstops the Pleasure boats - about 20. A passenger River navigation runs from earlyApril to mid-October, and the cargo - a little longer.
From the North River Station(Port) are sent cruise ships, connecting Moscow withPetersburg, Astrakhan, Rostov-on-Don and other cities of the Volga region. From the South River Station are sent onlyships to the Ryazan, Konstantinovo, as well as on the Oka River to the Nizhny Novgorod and the Volga River to theNorth Station.
From the North River station also ply the suburban ships of "Rocket", "Moscow", etc. to the recreation area of the reservoirs of «Channel in the name of Moscow», as well as on the one-hour walk on the Khimki Reservoir.
The main walking line in the city is a route of Novospasskij Bridge - Kiev railway station. In addition, Pleasure boats still ply on several routes in the city center, as well as on routes from the museum-reserve "Kolomna". There is also the route to therecreation area of the Troitse-Lykovo in the north-west of the capital.
For several years planned to be organized the regular river taxi routes, but they have not yet implemented.
Cargo shipping carried over the North, South and West River ports. St. two-decked
